The first act of our two-act homecoming was awesome. Perfect night at Taste of Monterey — saw old friends, old friends of our parents, all on a beautiful, clear night. It’s on nights like those that you have to think there’s no one on earth who wouldn’t think we live in the globe’s most beautiful place.

Last night we had a great dinner up the street at Cannery Row Brewing Company, and we’re headed back tonight for a signing/pouring from 4-6 p.m. That place has a killer atmosphere as well as what must be the world’s longest beer & wine list. Ed Hancock and Gary Obligacion have that place jumpin’ until 2 a.m. on the weekends, giving Monterey’s ordinarily sedate nightlife a pulse.
